Found the solution for the issue above. On Background Task Clear had to add the music app to the white list. No it works even with screen off.

this worked for me in maintaining a bluetooth connection to my asus vivowatch, would also say i have had to whitelisk my 'outlook' widget to keep it 'live', the phone must have quite an aggressive policy on terminating old processes, probably always worth considering if any app persistently fails

I have exactly the same issue with my Bluetooth on the UMI Super:
- takes several attempts to connect with the car
- even when it connects and the car displays a phone call or music, there is NO AUDIO
- it is not the car's problem as I don't have this with any other phones but I do have the same issue connecting the phone to other Bluetooth devices
- to get it to work I have to turn off Bluetooth for a few seconds, then back on again. if that fails I need to reboot the phone.

I've just sent an email off to Umi but based on this forum thread I don't expect a response or even resolution - which is a sad state of affairds.

The audio is bad using my bluetooth headset. The bluetooth reception keeps on getting disturbed resulting to stuttering audio. Well, all this because  bluetooth in umi super is problematic

Hello everyone. I purchased this device for my girlfriend for Christmas. I am 10 days that I'm "testing", as I read of the problems with the GPS and the car's bluetooth. As for the GPS, navigation of 3 tests made not seems to lose the signal and has always led me to the destination. For car bluetooth, I found that it works (and feels well), but the strangest thing is that I feel no ringing when part of the phone call. In practice, the car audio continues to play music until is not answered the call. Has anyone encountered the same thing?
Also, having a vauxhall with Intellilink system, I need to use Android car and, unfortunately, this does not work. The supplied cable does not seem to be the type of data and tried, in vain, with the micro USB cable that I used previously (aukey) with adapter xiaomi C-type micro usb. Unlike the cable provided, however, on the display you can select the USB connection mode (obviously set to Data).
Tips?

Hi
If I remember correctly there is hidden volume settings. Firstly you need connect your phone to Bluetooth device, play music or make phone call and press volume button and adjust volume. There is no other issues with Bluetooth since last updates.
Please confirm your firmware build date with this list and if is not latest please update your phone.

After updating you should perform factory reset and then set Bluetooth connection again.
Settings - backup and reset - factory data reset

The volume via Bluetooth is not the issue - it's connectivity.
The Umi Super appears to have an absolutely terrible Bluetooth module/chip/whatever.
It's definitely not my car because I have the same issue in my other car. Also my wearable practically runs out of battery in under 14 hours due to the amount of Bluetooth connection attempts it has to make. It's gotten so bad I simply turn Bluetooth off when I don't use it and back on when I need it. It's not time consuming but incredibly annoying and means that my wearable doesn't display notifications, and using my car audio or headsets at work takes an extra few seconds. Not Earth-shattering but connectivity is something I expect to be flawless in a device where connectivity is its primary function.
