  • Once you've setup fingerprint security (and a secondary check e.g pin) upon reboot, the pin is not recognised. I've wiped the phone several times and have tried various options but have yet to find a way around this apart from not configuring any security
  • If you use the UI Tuner, selecting any config options for the buttons causes the device to lock, reboot and bring up an error message stating the data is corrupt. Only another wipe can fix this
  • There is no way to get into the bootloader to do a hard reset without starting the phone.. i had to wipe using the remote google tool
  • Wireless charging works once, then if the phone is picked up and put down it doesn't restart unless the charger is powered off and on. I've tested 2 wireless chargers ( both Umidigi) and both give the same result
Can we get an ETA on the reboot password lockout issue please as this has been reported by several people on this thread so is clearly a common problem.
Edit - I've updated to the current ROM, tested with and without SIMs (in both slots) on reboot and when wiped.  i've no SIM pin setup, this is simply my the pattern or PIN setup during the initial phone setup.
Edit 2 - Issue 2 only occured on the V1.0_20180830 update for me

I have the same issue

Power off the phone. Hold the Vol+ & Power till the logo comes on and release. If it is Chinese, hold down the power button to turn off the phone and try again. The second time is usually English.

After applying the last ROM update I'm now experiencing camera issues - the image is either extremely dark or blown out bright. The app usually crashes with a message stating it can't connect to camera any more

I am having the same issue with the camera. Have you found a work around for the security issue by chance?

Received my pro same big problem as others with the Pin not being recognized after restart, which makes the phone useless. I seem to require the pin twice, 1st time is recognized but then unable to unlock the phone on 2nd entry of the pin. Can only get into recovery in Chinese, so yet to even figure out how to get back into the phone.
It was said you normally get english on the 2nd try but not working for me.

I think we're going to have to either wait for a fix on both counts or just return them as defective.. Without a functional camera, no security, hit and miss wireless charging and reboots/data corruption issues it's basically a useless device. I'm stunned any company would have such substandard testing that would allow something to be sold in this condition
edit - I've attached a couple of images of the errors i also get when using the camera (newest rom, after factory reset, no apps installed)

Dear Users,
If you have security pattern, camera etc issues, please perform a factory data reset from recovery as the followings:
1. Press and hold the volume-up and power buttons together until your phone restarts. It needs about 10 seconds or a little bit less.
2. When your phone is restarted, immediately release the power button but still hold the vol-up button until you see a lying android figure with an exclamation mark in red triangle on its tummy and ‘No command’.
3. Press and hold the power and vol-up buttons (in this order) together, then release them to call the recovery menu. Now you can move with the volume buttons and select an item with the power button.
4. Move to ‘Wipe data/factory reset’ and select it.
5. On the next screen move down to 'Yes...' and select it. Now your phone will be reset to its factory settings.
6. On the next screen press the power button again to reboot your phone

We need a fix not a workaround.. We can't all be wiping our phones every time someone has an issue. The phone I'm currently using (Maze Alpha) hasn't had to be wiped once in the year I've had it... The Z2 has been wiped about 6 times in the one day I've owned so I can try to get a working device. Suffice to say, a wipe isn't solving the camera issues etc either

I can do this in 20180823 but not 20180830. Just Vol+ & Power twice does it for me.  Is there a fix coming? Gearbest is offering refunds and don't want to send back but will if this is not fixed soon and no comments are being made.

I've managed to factory reset but like others have mentioned that is not the fix that is needed. We need an update that will allow the fingerprint/pin to function correctly. Otherwise we can never turn off the phone or restart it if we want any form of security on it.
