I heard that today, already 4 different professional development teams (Chinese and western as well) ...

That would be nice ... Let's hope it is not a trick to keep the custemers quiet.

I see no good news , conversely because 4 teams worked on lollipop for Emax and do not succeed, what I notice is a lack of communication from umi since August date announced on their facebook wall update for the emax ... since then, nothing !

Very disappointed with support for our device, still waiting at least for 5.0/5.1 however there is already 6.0 available for other android devices. I'm almost sure if the team does not provide any further support for Emax and Rome then I will not buy any UMI devices.

Well, sorry but i do not believe in that story of 4 development teams that have failed to release a Lollipop update to eMax...

But the lack of interest from UMI in really doing it in these past months is obvious.

Of course, without evidence neither UMI's statement nor your one is obvious. We don't know what's happening under the roof at UMI.

Edited by etmflde at 2015-12-10 00:14 \n\nI am a new user of this forum and also a fresh owner of a new UMI eMAX and I am still not fully decided if I should send it back to Amazon or keep it. There are many things I like about this phone but also many I don't and among the ones I don't are the Android 4.4 bugs that are bothering me on daily basis (sometimes even more often).
So, my question here is: when a moderator says it heard something from UMI, this happens because the moderators are actually UMI employees? If they are, why the information they offer is so fluffy? Can't they get a clear statement about eMAX?What is the point of keeping all these customers in a uncertainty status??? What is UMI afraid? That will loose face? They lost it when they announced 6 months ago there will be a upgrade published in few days and now, many months later, we still have no upgrade. What else could happen? People like me (that still have the option) will maybe return their phones...
Are they afraid that the customers of their new models that are coming already with Android 5.1 will stop buying their phones??? Well, for sure they will when they will see UMI will not release for any of their new models an upgrade to Android 6. But UMI will continue pushing new cheap models to the market... 5 - 6 models each year, all of them having the latest Android release available at the moment of the release and the world is full of... hmmm... how to put it?... people...
So, if they have found they are not able or willing to work on an upgrade for some of their models, why are they not releasing the source and the full specs of the HW to the world... Maybe some smart guys around will be able to port one of the Cyanogen versions to those phones...

Hi Guys,

After couple months of checking the forum, I can tell one thing - update will not appear.
No direct contact from UMI, no solid information, blaming 3rd parties for the delays - this is all buffoonery.

Lack of Lollipop is not a big issue now, but within a year our handsets will be obsolete, and application support limited.

It's a shame, that I didn't read this topic before I decided to buy UMI eMax.
I will not put my trust in UMI in the future as well.

After sale support is important for European customer, and try to remember, that a loyal customer will remember the quality and service, rather than low price.

Kind Regards,
A.

Edited by DANIBOY77 at 2015-12-10 03:13 \n\n+++ Ammianus ! it's true
The mentality is not even in Europe, Archos has tried this method of sale and it does not work in Europe, soon made a reputation , even though it would not be updated , it would be wiser to tell the truth , for sell a device with an update to the specifications and do not do it!
I hope UMI will make a communication...
