I think there's a very little chance to get a lollipop upgrade for the eMAX, but that's more than zero, of course. The suspension of the lollipop project has not yet been announced by UMI.

Of course UMI has not announced the suspension of Lollipop update and never will, this way they will sell a few extra units advertising as receiving the update to Lollipop, even with the hardware quality of eMax they would have a hard time selling them at 160$ stuck at Android 4.4.

The cold truth is that UMI lies to their costumers promising updates that they do not deliver and for the same price there are better brands in the market, regarding quality or software polish/update

Instead of releasing 7 smartphones in 2015, they should have launched 2 or 3 and provide decent support and deliver their promises.

They are still lying at their advertisements. Look at the Support Lollipop 5.0 upgrade banner at this page:

http://www.banggood.com/UMI-eMAX ... phone-p-977385.html

They know eMax will never get a stable lollipop upgrade but they still using same banners to fool people and sell more and more phones until they will be out of stock.

Traders are just too lazy to update their ads. You can find a lot of such listings net-wide. UMI is already not used to advertise the lollipop upgrade for a long time, although still there's a place on the official product page where they've left that option accidentally.
To be honest, that's already a little bit boring for me to ride the same horse again and again. UMI wanted to release a lollipop upgrade for eMAX, they failed and that's all. That was one mistake, not a continuous cheating. I'm just trying to make this dispute balanced here.

Edited by bseixas at 2015-12-7 17:29 \n\nSorry to be "a pain in the ass" but UMI as a brand as no excuse here.

This is official and not from lazy traders :

http://www.umidigi.com/?page-UMIEMAX_Software.html

http://www.umidigi.com/?page-UMIEMAX_Specification.html

The only laziness i see here is from UMI the way they are working on the update to be released or even to update their official page about the product that still lead consumers on expecting a Lollipop update.

In my case i am tired of waiting for something that was a fact when the phone was released and many people like me bought eMax legitimately expecting it considering what was advertised at launch and still is as i showed before, if i knew that eMax would be stuck at 4.4 with an unpolished OS (that what V05 is with wakelocks and battery stats not reset among other minor issues), i would never had bought it.

Luckly for me, eMax is not my only smartphone and will be on selling list shortly, Oneplus One, LETV X600, Asus Zenfone 2 or even Mstar S700 (yes a mt6752 with Lollipop out of the box on a cheaper smartphone than eMax) is to blame for my lack of accommodation on what UMI delivers.

Brands like UMI has to learn that dumping cheap and good looking phones in the market is not enough and have to step up in terms of honesty (updates/battery mAh real capacity) and official software support, eMax should be getting 5.1 and even 6.0, i did not expect 24 months of updates but zero/null/none like is going to be the case of eMax is a joke of bad taste for who spent +-150$.

If UMI concept of software update is the consumer to buy a new UMI smartphone every 6 months, well, good luck with that because they are going to need it.

Over and out.
