If I've been using headset (whether for listening to music or for conversations), and then try using loudspeaker it usually doesn't work. Restart is only option. Although headset works if i don't restart... Quite lame

Hi
Maybe in software is some error during OTA downloading.
So all you guys please use SPFT and flash your system to latest available firmware.
Here you have SPFT updating procedure
http://community.umidigi.com/forum-150-1.html
And here you have all available ROMs
http://community.umidigi.com/forum-148-1.html
Of course guys you can try older ROMs too.
If doesn't fix you issue then definitely is hardware failure and you need contact seller for warranty.

Can we order a replacement speaker and replace it ourselves? UMI phones are very friendly with self repair. Can you give us a replacement speaker part number and where to buy?

Settings->Battery->Battery optimisation (shown after click on the three dots in upper right corner)-

Select "All apps"
Click on "Bluetooth Share" and select "Don't optimise"
Click on "BT Tool" and select "Don't optimise"

Thank you for the post. I'll give it a try.

I now have a second UMI Z phone, yes a second one. On the new phone the speaker will cut out and will not work until you reboot the phone. The speaker problem is a MAJOR issue with the UMI Z phone and needs to be addressed immediately.
