yes, i know, the portrait/bokeh effect on ALL mobile phone is obtained through software but based on dual lens technology...l the 80mm lens you refer to is only possible with real DSLR photo cameras.
the problem with the S2 Pro is that it doesn't even use the second camera lens. I blacked out the second lens and the blurring effects remained, which is typically the prove that it is a simple software effect
like available on the application SNAPSEED e.g.
again, if the 5MP lens is really operational, then it should be possible to obtain a depht-of-field calculation due to the slightly different angle compared to main lens, it's like a stereoscopic effect, and with this
depth-of-field calculation the software then produces a real portrait/bokeh picture. as i mentioned before, it's available on lots of mobile phones.
i mean, for a smartphone of about USD300 this would be a minimum, given that that effect is very good on cheaper chinese phones like XIAOMI MI A1 as well as others, which all do NOT have 80mm lens, but
a appropriate software which precisely calculates that depth-of-field necessary to obtain a good and close to real DSLR portrait photos.
if that should not be possible, then i am afraid i must conclude and confirm: the second lens is FAKE without any function!
i still do hope there shall come a improved camera app which includes realistic depth-of-field bokeh/portrait photography.

The OTA Upgrades came to us yesterday morning. My download and update went smoothly.
My wife's failed. Initially, it was looking good and then while it was rebooting it showed us the Dead Android Robot saying ERROR!. I attempted several times and received Download Error 9002 one time and Download Error 8008 another time.
I deleted the zip file, but it kept failing.
It's just going in circles. How can I remedy this?
Second camera is used for focusing background and to increase amount of light coming to main sensor. Of course second camera is not used constantly only under certain conditions especially low light condition.

i tested the s2 pro camera under every condition, specially in low light, with the stock camera app as well as with open camera and google camera.... there is absolutely NO improvement on the stock camera app...
if there would be an improvement through the second 5MP lens, then the results made by the stock camera app should be better, right? but no, there is no improvement....
I purchased 2 * UMIDIGI S2 Pro and after 1 month the camera on one of the phones is always showing a green image before you take a photo. The photos are all green even without flash. Anyone experience this or know how to fix?
