I'm glad to hear that. So, that was a software error. Anyway, I was experimenting with this phone for quite a long time (you can find the related tools I've provided here), and found that, its baseband functionality is quite sensitive to the condition of system software components. I often had to restore my saved EFS partition to make it useful again. However, once it works fine and you don't touch any system component, it will do its job perfectly for any long time.

I´m fine with the stock ROM, which is quite slim. I don´t even have to root, because there´s no bloatware.
Without your tools and descriptions I wouldn´t have been able to flash the phone, so thanks for sharing.
guys where you can download the firmware on 9/26/15? or EFS with operating frequencies for Europe? And the exact same problem smart not to see the network ((
It´s so sad... After lucky surfing 3G for 2 weeks it´s suddenly gone... No 3G anymore, just 2G. In a German Forum (android-hilfe.de) is another user with the same problem. He says, if he clicks around in settings-menu sometimes it happens to have 3G again for a couple of days. For me that didn´t till now, but maybe I didn´t push the right settings... Really weird.
I will give the CM12.1 procedure from xda-Forum a try. Hope this helps.

I have exactly the same 3. problem. And i have extra problem (nr 4) which is hotspot...it turns on but when i connect computer it connects but no internet. I've already checked the APN settings and are correct. :\
The WiFi hotspot issue is a general software problem, not unique at you. I already reported it to UMI some weeks ago. I hope it will be solved as soon as possible.
I have had my UMI Fair for a few days, 3 Mobile (UK) supplied me with smaller Sim to fit from my old PAYG Samsung (urghh) which was 3G...
They advised this phone will connect to 4G in receptive areas but even though I selected 3/4G in Settings, no 4G?
I'm not a tech guru but does this device need any further settings or software to connect to 4G?
(Hint : there is no user manual supplied...)
