I i forgot to say there was a pop up on my phone when this happened today, it just said you have no  ...

By my opinion you have activated some battery saving mode or is activating it self depending battery level.

The phone was fully charged yesterday and today too, today the LED turned green about 500 M before i arrived at my friends house, yesterday the phone been charged for a long time as i had been on a long drive before it happened.
I have not enabled or messed with much on the phone as it have tonnes of features i will never use as a really modest user.
I have on average 10 - 15 minutes of screen time every day and receive / make about 2 calls every day on average, yesterday was a 0 call day.
i have only installed 2 apps on the phone , one local waze like app and one app from the postal service to track parcels.

I do have batterysaving ON and turning ON at 15% battery but i never get that low as the 4 day battery life i would have dont really happen as i drive more than every 4 days and so the phone get charged in the car on a 2.4 A charger.

I think 50% battery are as low as i ever get before a charge / drive in car where phone charge in dock.
I rarely need to charge the phone at home on the mains charger.

I want to confirm as well that after the call has been done, the proximity sensor doesn't light the screen in most of the cases or at least with a significant delay (4 to 5 seconds).

The waze like app i have installed cant start the GPS as it have permission to do, i have to do that manually every time i want to use that app.

On the old android it worked fine, and the app according to developer should work fine with android 7.1.1

It also worked fine just after my factory reset some days ago, but now it seem to have forgotten how to use the GPS.

Hello

After OTA 7.1.1 update, i have trouble with wifi / mobile data known issue .
I decided to go back to Androir 6 with the latest SPFT Rom (20170412) and i totally falied my flashing ! i think i unplugged my usb cable to early as i saw no progress bar

well my phone is bricked, it didn't start anymore and when i try to flash again i have error STATUS_BROM_CMD_STARTCMD_FAIL  (see screenshot)

please could anyone give me the process to unbrick it and reinstall a ROM ???

Hello

With your explanation we can very clearly read that you disconnect phone from USB during flashing proces.
Please follow this SPFT updating instruction

after failing my ROM flashing in fact my phone was not turned off. But as i have black screen and power button did not respond even waiting about ten seconds pressing it
i follow this video tutorial :

press both power + volume UP buttons for 10 seconds, leave both buttons and press Volume UP once

my UMI reboots normally and i could switch it off (and be sure it's switched off) and then reflashing it with FlashTool with 2017-04-11 Android 6 ROM.
All is OK, i am happy,  retreiving a good ROM wich can let me using WiFi / Mobile Data with no pain :-)

But as i said in other thread, i am a little bit disappointed with UMI Z. it has pros but also cons : It heats al lot without heavy cpu usage ;  just with web browsing or apps updates, battery design ???
average-poor camera (and poor default camera software).  

Well, if anyone would like to get one at a good price, i could sell it at a very good price because i bought it on dx.com presale with a very good discount vs current normal price.
Just contact me if your are interested. Of course the phone as no scratch, screen protected with tempered glass and i protect it in a small coathing wallet when traveling. i received it at end of March and so just using it a few.

I think i will go on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with snapdragon 625 cpu, there is good discount on gearbest.com, i know Xiaomi (my daughter as a 5" Redmi 4x), never heating, awesome battery life, good camera, updates OK ;-)...

In my case after update (7.1.1) I have the following problems:

-Battery: it drain extremely fast.

-Charging: there isn´t quick charging. Takes many hours to charge the phone.

-Wi-Fi: the Wi-Fi settings keep getting forgotten and the phone can not find any accessible networks. The WIFI is VERY slow. Wi-Fi lose signal and you have to restart the phone to have connection.

- Data: after using Wi-Fi, it won´t connect through mobile data unless you restart the phone.

- Call volume: it is too low.

- After a call, the proximity sensor doesn't light the screen.

- Some apps like twitter and Facebook suddenly stops responding for several seconds. Phone heats up while this is happening. The solution is a reboot.

- Live photos doesn’t works. It stops working.

Funny how people have so different issues, my Z phone work great otherwise from what i have mentioned.

I have now looked at my issue for several more days and it seem like it have nothing to do with wifi, but rather its like my phone will not give me mobile data ( is turned on ) unless i have 4G, 3G or anything less and my phone say i have no mobile data.

I am not sure if regular calls work on 3 G - edge and so on as i get and make very few calls, so have not yet gotten a call under such circumstances.
But i do think that would work just fine, just have to remember to stop in a 3G - edge place and make a test call.
