UMI SUPER GPS PROBLEMS

I se the problem with poor GPS signal in UMI phones are bad/cheap GPS sensors. Because no software update can resolve this.

Been reporting this problem to Umi but they suggest that it is an isolated case. I see that many of you are also experiencing this rare case of GPS signal problem. Mine is similar to the video below:

i agree the gps jump every 3 & 5 mns thanks umi for fixing this big probleme if you can with an update and if it is hardware probleme if anybody find an issu for this thanks a lot by telling us so important for me nice day everyone

All umi models have GPS ..... issue, also the new Plus...!
I think they use hardware from different suppliers, this is why we have a few devices working, but for sure we have a lot of devices with GPS issue, camera ......

My Umi Max GPS is not perfect too, sometimes it's working passably, but somtimes accuracy is too low. I am using GPS with car navigation software.
One i found is to turn off battery optimisation for GPS apps. "Settings" -> "Battery", menu on right top corner "Battery optimization". In drop-down menu choose "All Apps". Find app "YGPS" and set to "Don't Optimize". Do this for all other apps, that are using GPS. I have done this, GPS signal is OK, but had no time to test it on the road.
You can try it too, maybie it will help...

But it is so sad to see  the same issues again and again on all the new Umi phones!
I think it's depressing for people who work in the company too!

Finally i have fixed my UMI MAX poor GPS. I have not tested it very well, but GPS improvement is obvious.
And the problem is with GPS antenna, pin connectors on main board are not connected with antenna on back cover. So i disassembled my MAX and unbend GPS antenna connector. Now GPS signal is much better, GPS is working even inside of a house.

Thanks, but this is the solution for a few devices only... (there are many old threads about this....).
Why Umi hasn't already solved this issue if it is just a simple problem?

I don't think that it's software problem, otherwise UMI would fix it if they care of good UMI reputation. If it is a hardware problem - i don't think they have several hardware modifications for every model of their phones, so the problem is commonly the same. And if it's true - there will be no software fix for that. I think it's just inaccurate assemblage of a phone and it seems that UMI is not paying enough attention to this problem.

My final verdict after 30 day usage of umi super
Pros:
1. Specs
2. Build and flagship features
3. Battery life
4. Software

Cons:
1. Camera quality
2. Weak Wifi/Bluetooth/GSM/GPS signals
3. Audio quality

Umi super will blow you away with bang for your buck specs and superb design and features. However, it is really frustrating that the basic smartphone functions are not polished or should I say, below average.

Wifi signal is weak
Bluetooth signal is weak
GSM signal is weak
GPS signal is inaccurate and really bad
Audio output is so weak
Camera and video quality in lowlight is very bad

These are common problems on umi super phones. My verdict is based on comparisons from other midrange smartphones I've tried such as Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy W, Alcatel Flash Plus & Flash Plus 2. It is disappointing that the basic functions are below average. This is the weakest smartphone I've tried when it comes to wifi/bluetooth/gsm/GPS/audio. I can live by the bad camera but the others are a big no no. I have been requesting for a software fix for these to Umiofficial but they suggest mine is an isolated case. But I know that it is not. Still hoping that they do something about these. Umi super is such a promising phone but UMI should ensure that the basic functions are solid and average at best.
