I hope that is not true. If the phone can not be updated like the specification say, than I am informed wrong. If I had known that before I bought the phone I probably would have bought a other phone.

This s*cks.

UMI doesn't promise the lollipop upgrade for eMAX since August. Traders just don't take care about modifying their ads.

The possibility of the lollipop upgrade has been missing on the official product page since August. Besides that UMI was still working on it but failed. So, anybody who bought his eMAX before August, could legitimately expect (as a fact) a lollipop upgrade but not those who bought it later. Later buyers got just a hope, nothing more.

Do remember when we tried out ROMs for the TCL M2M on the eMax? There was even one Android 5.1 ROM for it which was a hackport from the Meizu M1 Note. On my endless search for a solution for the eMax I found this github https://github.com/meizuosc/m463 which claims to contain the source code for the Meizu M1 Note and this github https://github.com/FlymeOS/devices-base/tree/lollipop-5.1 which actually belongs to the developers of the Meizu. Is there any chance that this can be used in some way for our eMax?

Another question: Since Umi is cooperating with TCL for the eMax Mini can't they just ask the TCL guys for help with the eMax Lollipop upgrade?

UMI requested the lollipop upgrade from TCL but they asked a too high price for it. Don't ask me how could it be happened if they were and are still cooperating business partners.

Don't blame the traders ... it is still on http://www.umidigi.com/?page-UMIEMAX_Specification.html Supports Lollipop .... This has nothing to do with hoping. It is misleading the customer. The Umi site was the site where I got my information for the specifications.

I think UMI should compensate buyers who are misleaded (all buyers).

That line at the and of the list of specs has been left there by accident, and you know that, of course. I didn't even realized it until now. Your request for compensation is quite acceptable if you bought your phone before August. If you bought it later, you should request it from your reseller if they still advertised the upcoming lollipop upgrade. On the other hand, that would be not easy to specify the amount of that compensation.

Why reseller. Misleading starts at Umi website.  Don't blame others. I based my information about the specifications on the UMI site. Why blaming reseller?

You can not expect that all customers read all the fora. The specs have to be correct. That it is by accident is no excuse.
