This is jiayu s3 extreme rom.

Nice! Then install a Jiayu S3 ROM on a UMI eMAX and see what happens.

I can confirm. I have tried every ROM available (Except for the Chinese stuff) and it doesn't boot. Great news to see that they have actually gotten some work done though!

It's been a bit quiet the last few days on this thread . A couple of us have joked about marshmallow , but have any of you noticed the recent thread about mediatek promising marshmallow for a number of soc, including 6752?  If lollipop is a financial issue,  how likely is it that umi might make an arrangement for mm ?
And whatever happened to industrial espionage ? Why don't they just bribe someone at mediatek for what they need? It must go on ! And it can't be against their scruples , judging by everything else that happens!

They at UMI know about this news but there's nothing concrete in hand yet. They haven't contracted or at least negotiated with mediatek about this update. So, we'll get marshmallow or not in the future, nobody knows yet. Since eMAX is not in production anymore, I'm afraid, there's just a little chance. A very well balanced hardware has been wasted.

Ah ,if that was posted (about production stopping) I have either missed it or forgotten it. But isn't it likely then, that other 6752 phones will also be out of production ,rendering them unlikely to get further support ? So what's in it for mtk to deliver mm ? Provide something that won't get used in reply to complaints about not releasing codes?

I've advised Umi for friends, bought a Hammer for my Mom and my colleague has bought 2 Hammers for kids and an eMax for mom (about 15 days ago) but the eMax was supposed to be updated to Lollipop and she has been having some issues but we found there is no Lollipop as it was advertised on product page of the online store where we bought.
She told me that a friend also want to buy 5 new Smartphones for the hole family, and asked for my advice, but I've been postponing my advice based of Lollipop availability for eMax but since it's getting urgent and this delay getting nowhere (google released Kitkat 1 year ago, lollipop has more than 6 months and Marshmallow has been out already) so this time I'm not recommending Umi anymore.
Regards,
Miguel

An update to Android 5 (Lollipop) would be nice. Then we can use the external SD-card. A week has past, but still no update .... please tell us the correct date for the update.
