Edited by LeXuZ at 2017-5-1 03:08 \n\nWow. That was a bit too much for a umi super. About your prob ...

Max and super sharing same screen only digitizer could be different as was there different supplier. If you flashing max firmware to super you should uncheck preloader as there is different CPU frequency, RAM and ROM capacity.
I heard that latest replacement of screen only supporting android 7.0 but this information is from UMI plus so maybe same thing is to latest replacement max/super screen

If you have black screen you can use SPFT and flash to latest Android 6.0 and if still not working ...

The screen seller sent me here to get the rom.  1st he said to use the 20160923 but obviously that didnt work and then he sent a link for the newest android 6 i cant remember what it is off the top of my head but it's the last one before all the broken android 7 roms

Sorry but both ROMs are 64 bit

sorry, I think you are right.  After i read some more i realized the forums i was reading were from back when everyone was unsure if the max roms were even compatible and the 32 bit thing was speculation.  Again i conceed.

If you have black screen you can use SPFT and flash to latest Android 6.0 and if still not working use Android 7.0.
Also latest firmware can not contain correct drivers for your screen so you need wait for another update or contact to screen seller.

I was thinking along those lines as well.  I read somewhere this was possible.  The only drawback is the Umi max rom is 32 bit where the umi super is 64 bit rom.  Effectivly cutting your speed in half.  I mean who installs x86 windows on a  pc that can handle x64 really. Maybe I'm wrong too but hey if it will get phone to boot into recovery i'm game it's better than having to buy a new phone because umi stopped selling the correct screen for my phone so now i'm stuck without root.

The problem is not with twrp the problem is that with the only compatible rom i cannot boot into recovery at all.  This function has been disabled.  I'm trying  to figure out how to keep the drivers from rom 20161121 and load everything else from another rom so that i can boot into recovery.  I have tried everything i know to do and on rom20161121 there is no way to boot into recovery. Power + vol up just boots the phone normally.

Edited by LeXuZ at 2017-5-1 03:08 \n\nWow. That was a bit too much for a umi super. About your problem there is a new twrp on xda. Try that. I can't seem to find the link but i know that is made in march by someone. Because your screen is from a max and a umi max is almost the same can't you just flash the max rom but without the preloader. (First ask to more people because i'm merely guessing this)
