Edited by chooks06 at 2017-4-7 22:29 \n\nFriends, I'm not sure but if you visit the ROM forum, it gives instructions to flash a dead phone. From what I read from the links (https://androidmtk.com/flash-sto ... rt-phone-flash-tool), it seems the phone is in powered off state when flashing.

Not sure if this can work.

Of course, if it can be exchanged or refunded, then that would be a better option.

Thanks for your attempts.

I do not want to tamper with the phone, so umi does not accuse me of violating the device. I would rather return it, so they can throughly test it.

I have already ordered another charger to see if it works. Best to return device and seek refund or replacement.

The Z Pro is my first China brand device. Was a calculated gamble and for me so far no major setbacks. A few other brands I previously considered were Elephone, Ulephone and ZTE. Prices seemed reasonable for the hardware but was not sure about support.

My deal breaker was actually 4GB/64GB with NFC besides dual SIM, external memory, reasonably fast SoC (above 2GHz). However, the models I eyed took so long to produce and eventually, newer models were churned out. Maybe you can check them out. By now, there should be a fair bit of reviews, forums to give a better gauge, though they may not be absolutely on the spot.

The $50 pre-order discount on the Z Pro hooked me...Looks like I'll have to exploit it to the fullest capability.

So Umidigi Facebook page just replied to my issue. I have alreaddy shipped the phone back, but this might be usefull for someone else facing the same issue.
If you can see the blinking red light, your charger is probably okay.
To rule out the possibility of an existing software error, I suggest you to flash your phone with SP Flash Tool, choosing the 'Firmware Upgrade' option in the flasher application. That process will completely rewrite the whole software content of your device. - You will lose your user data.

If that does not help, I suggest you to contact your seller to (according to their warranty policy) make your phone repaired or replaced. We supply our retailers with spare parts and replacement devices.
Thank you for contacting us.
