Hello, I have had the same problem. The battery was swollen and the Display was under high pressure. The seller by ebay didn.t answere me (I write 5 times or more) the phone was 6 month old.The pressure was so high that the buttons fall out. So i open it and the Battery was double size. I bought a broken Umi super ba ebay and changed the case and the battery. Now it works fine again. I am not happy about the seller but what should i do? Wish you good luck ( sooooorrry my english I am german)

If you bought it as new don't you have some of warranty? Contact eBay and try.

Very reassuring... In the end you get what you paid for. 1/4 price of flagship and it can last for 6 months. Good deal! ;/

If your phone is six months old you should contact to seller for warranty.
Definitely you will get enough money for repairing your phone if you don't want send your phone back to seller.
Here you can get battery
https://m.aliexpress.com/search.htm?keywords=Umi+super+battery+#/
There is really no point complaining. We understand your frustration or disappointment but this could happen to any brand. But is very easy fix this fault in umi super.

I am having the same problem , my screen is bent like G flex and battery can't hold for 10 mins on use . Probably gonna throw the phone in trash and never buy an UMI again. Such a shame that I need to worry if it's gonna explode right beside my head. The worse thing is that I actually liked the phone except for the main camera

Hi ,I bought UMI Z  from Gearbest  and after just 2 months of using it my battery got swollen , I tried to contact them but they keep refusing to do anything , I have also tried to contact Umi on facebook and they keep IGNORING costumers needs .I wish that UMI  will take responsibility for such a factory mistakes ,because costumers give their money and have phone for only 2 months or lees until it gets broken.

I am really scared to use this phone because it might explode any second , which put my life and other people around my in great danger .
What will happen if battery explode inside my house and burn down my house.

You should contact the seller (Gearbest in your case), not UMi. The seller takes care(?) of all warranty issues. UMi does not handle such matters.

I did contact them , and because they are really irresponsible and takes them 24 hours to reply on my every message I decided to contract UMI  direct .  Looks like Gearbest keep avoiding costumers complains ,they also told me if I decide to send it back I need to pay 190 USD to cover costs ( I can buy new phone with that money ) .

Comments

Well, to me, Gearbest has always been reasonable. But $190 is more than the phone cost. I personally take it as a calculated risk when buying Chinese stuff. You never know if you'll get a lemon.  Post time 2017-4-28 00:05

And if you paid with paypal just open a dispute with Gearbest. They will be a lot faster to help but remember not ot close your dispute before you get what you want. If you close it there is nothing more paypal can do.
