Only new LCD drivers to support newer products with new kind of LCD screen.

No, you don't need if you replace only the touch panel.

\n\nThank you for the clear answer, Is there BTW a change that we can expect a release of the sourcecode so a "dedicated" team like M.A.D. can develop a proper working Android 7.1.1 version for this device what will hike up your sales and faith in your brand I assume that isn't a bad idea @ all

No, most users do not install custom ROMs to void the warranty of their devices, and we don't plan to leak our source codes, sorry. UMi only supports official software releases. Canceling Rootjoy has made this state much clearer.

You can download and install ROMs with Rootjoy.
