Dear users,

Please don't compare apple with pear. Here are some answers in a summarized form.

So mediatek are still not publishing kernel sources inline with the GPL
Basically, unlike every other SOC provider that publish (release) source code! Mediatek are non compliant!!
What are they hiding I wonder ? Maybe it's right that they do infringe on patents that are held by others !!!

No chance of development or customisation will ultimately mean my device will be getting sold asap!

Maybe they have a special contract woth Google. MediaTek SoCs are still used by world brands as well. That's still possible to port custom ROMs.
