Hello dear readers!

i have found a solution for the popping sound during next song or when playing any sort of media contaning music.
it is simple but it is only temporal.

the problem is fairly simple to fix i just need someone that can code into android an inplement this aoutimatically
what you have to do is really easy:

1 dowload Favorite Frequencies on the google play
2 set frequency to 0
3 select volume to  0
and press play

now if you press the home button the and play some music the sound will dissappear.
unfurtunatly if you exit the application from your recents menu the "fix" will dissappear
the fix works!

BUT HOW?!
Let me explain...
the sound is not a hardwear problem its can be fixed through the software
the problem happens beacuse the speaker turns off by itself making it make this popping sound this happens because there is a sudden increase of electricity flowing through the speaker
this results of the clicking/popping sound
when you activate the app what the apps does,it makes android think the app is playing music (if the values are set to 0, if you put the value to the range the human ear can hear you will able to hear that frequency) so this results on the speaker being "turned on" all the time
this disables the speaker from turning on.
think of it like this:
you play a song.
android: Oh! the user is playing something *turns on speaker*
android: there now he can hear his music.
this results into that poping sound
you stop the song.
android: okay the user turned the music off better turn off the speaker *turns off the speaker*

once you play the music on again android turns on the speaker making that popping sound.
the sudden flow of electricity couses this sound.
  • what the app does:
  • it plays nothing.
  • android thinks its playing something.
  • the speaker remains on.
  • the trick is to make the speaker remain on.
    = no sound!

i cant make this fix work on forever i dont develop on android.
i know its a pain doing this manually all the time but is worth it while you are listening to you music
dont ask me silly questions (please dont. Thanks)
if you need help reply i will try to fix this for you.
if you need help on this in spanish i can help you as i speak spanish.
cant help you in any other language.

this fix can be applied if umi (or any 3rd party developer) tries to inplement this so it is done automatically done on boot
yes, sorry i cant do that. maybe if you can make the app run in the background on every boot without doing anyhting
it will make it work without the users input.
excuse my spelling i cant be asked to proofread it.

please say thanks
i am always looking on a  better way to fix this but
this is the only way i can do this
if i find a better way i will update this post!
hopefully umi will read this and reward me with a umi iron pro case and screen protector
if you know how to inplement this please make the code avaliable for everyone.
thanks and your welcome
please comment and make this thread popular it will make other users find this and fix their problem.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. Anyway, another user was talking about this app days ago, and finally created a better app fixing this issue. Here you can see original post.

As Angel_UMI said, I've made an app what is doing almost the same thing you described.

There was more problem with favorite frequencies than it doesn't start automatically and don't do the work in background. It also doesn't stop the play automatically if you unplug the headset so it consumes battery if you doesn't manually stop the play or kill the app.

My app is basically a service that automatically starts at boot and listens for headset connection.
If a headset is connected, it starts playing a tone at 0 volume.
If you unplug the headset it stops the tone.

What sound persist with the main speaker? I don't get it.
Do you have popping sound with the loudspeaker too?
What exactly do you need?

Yes, the same poping sound presist with the main speaker with your app I just need you to make the app do the same thing with the speaker+ could you add a remove icon from launcher option because it is not the most prettiest icon (sorry). Your app is much better than favorite frequencies. But I still need favorite frequencies so it stops the speaker from poping. Sorry if I don't make sense. I'm kind of an idiot at explaining myself.

It's pretty strange that you have popping noise with the loudspeaker. I have never heard that before.
But I can do it. I'll also look at the launcher icon removal.
