Yes, it switches menu buttons to (inivisible) hardware buttons. The software menu buttons disapear.
Here you´ll find the settings: Settings/Accessibility/Keypad type

One more thing: Maybe we should point out that this update resets your phone to factory defaults, so all your apps and data will be lost after update. Please back up your stuff before you do this update...

Install a third party launcher like Nova Launcher or Holo Launcher, and use that as a replacement of the stock launcher..
