Hi. I had the same issues connecting to the 5g wifi of my dualband router. Then i tried to play around with the 5g settings on my router and discovered the following results. If i choose the lower spectrum channel setings(36,40,44,48) for the 5g network , i can never connect to my router. However if i use the higher spectrum (149,153,157,163) then i will be able to connect successfully . You can try it on your own router and then see if you can connect your z2pro to the 5g wireless subsequently after your changed settings.

Do not use the lower spectrum (36,40,44,48)of the 5g wifi channel settings on your router. Use the higher spectrum starting from 149. I got the same issues connecting with the lower spectrum and it works perfectly when i switch to the higher spectrum

I have the same problem! Connection with 5ghz not possible. Wi-fi of the phone is even on 2.4 very bad. I have mutiple AP's and this phone always connect's with the worst 2.4. My old Z1 works fine on all bands en always connect's to te strongest.

Edited by saikee at 2018-9-23 18:46 \n\nGuys,

Z2 pro has ac wifi capable of 600Mbps but it only works with 5Ghz.  It is worth to get it operational.

The link speed of my Z2 pro is about 100 and 400 for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.  The link speed is not fixed but changes continuously.  I have verified the difference independently with a laptop.  Therefore Z2 pro does have the ac wifi capability.

Edited by saikee at 2018-9-23 18:57 \n\n Edited by saikee at 2018-9-23 18:57 \n\nhemereke,

I think my steps to get dual band working were:-

(1) forget the working band so the phone has no Internet
(2) Add the band that Z2 pro refuse to connect.
(3) Reboot phone
(4) The band previously refuse to connect suddenly connects
(5) Add the forgotten band
(6) Switch bands to ensure both operational.
(7) Tap the working band to find out its link speed.

ac wifi also requires the router having this feature.  If the router does not has ac protocol you may be flogging a dead horse to get 5Ghz working faster than 2.4Ghz.

I use a British Telecom  (BT) Home hub that does not tell me the frequencies except Mode 1, 2 & 3.  The hub defaults to Mode 1 in 5Ghz and is the only mode compatible with ac wifi apparently.

Hi almighty. Great to hear that it works for you too. Think umidigi should put this as part of the next update. In most instances, wifi 5g in the cafes and shopping outlets should be set as automatic channel allocation. That means sometimes our z2pro may or may not connect , depending on the cafes wireless router channel allocation. Personally my samsung s5 and note 3 had no issues with my old auto settings for the 5g network at home. Believe that shld be the way for z2 pro as well .
