Yes i did. I still have the old broken screen and the FN number on the back are the same.

Open calling dialler and type in *#*#33#*#* then got to single test - touch panel.
Also you should contact to screen seller as maybe you have new screen faulty. Also there could be motherboard or connector faulty too as you never say what exactly caused screen too crack.

The only issue I have with the screen so far is the yellowish bars at the sides.

This yellow colour is from overheating as I suspecting that several times you heavily used phone during charging.

As long as he didn't root his phone and overclocked it he should be possible to use the phone in any situation, also while charging it. Otherwise this should be stated somewhere in the user manual of the phone.

If the phone is overheating whilst being charged and used,then the thermal cut off isn't working,either correctly or at all.
Also,it casts serious doubts on the quality of the batteries that are used in Umidigi phones.
All phones will get warm whilst being charged and used,no matter what make they are,but,they don't damage
the screens whilst doing so.
