It is unbelievable, you get crazy, after less than 4 months, the salesman does not guarantee.Umi claims I must contact the seller ....

I got the same problem,

The battery on my UMI Z start overblown in my pocket during my night shift last night, i turn off the device.

This device is ticking bomb, i will report this brand to European Commision and try to ban it in EU.

I have it only two months, what a waste of money and time, and now battle to get what i paid- correct device.

Just to mention that the screen was not correct,  as it was factory defective.

                                               BRAVO UMI OR UMIDIGI, OR YOU CAN CALL YOURSELF UMIMAYBE

hello i m just angry i bought 2 umi super and one umi z i have the problem of a swelled battery with my umi z, i resent it to Gearbest.
. Ok i bought my phone to Gearbest  but who built the umi z?? You did ! I gave you my trust and this is my reward if i want another umi z i must pay. He s guaranteed and Gearbest ask me to pay because you can't fix it !!

Hi, i've read all tge posts and i have the same ptoblem with my battery. The problem is that the battery is growing everyday more and more, right now the touch screen is completely broken because of that . I talked to Aliexpress but they told me that i hace to pay 100$ because of the touch screen and i cant understand that because i didnt break it, it was the battery so why i have to pay? Please, i bought the UMI Z thinking it was a good decision but now i don't know... Why the official UMI can't do something?

Hello,
I contacted my dealer after the battery problem. My phone is very often burning and as soon as I have the android alert I turn it off. I do not even leave it on at night frightened to find me grilled like a sausage.
But in fact the coolicool dealer does not want to know anything. He wants pictures ... pictures of me in grilled sausage ????
I turn off my phone before there's a lot of damage. So basically I have to grill it so that we can do something for myself.
I find that shameful.

Hey, cool down I suffer the same problem and understand your frustration but... think a bit.

1. It is a SONY battery and I remember reading (and liking) this before buying. So Umi suffers loses due to SONY's fault (or cheating on them), not their own. OK, it is deffective and it sucks.


2. Samsung and iPhone had some serious problems with batteries exploding too. At least I haven't heard of an actually exploded UMI.
3. Big, but thin and fast charging battery... nice, very nice... At least when I bought mine almost nobody around had this.... Well when you chose an advanced new technology, you also take the risks. Like owning a new to market sports car if you like... Nice to own and show off, but it also has a certain risk. Lamobrghnini also used to had a problem with bursting in flames while driving normally. Slill a lot of people dream to own it.
4. An advanced tech, from an unknown and obviously small brand that basically assebles components, made by other companies is a risk. Buying form a virtual seller located an another continent is too. I took it, realizing that it is risky (well... with the first UMI)

It is mostly a matter of choice.  If you believe that other brands do not have faults, go on... Remember the last Galaxy Note (and again battery problems)?
My sister recently had a problem with her latest ultra-giga EDGE boght two months ago, caused by a defective mainboard.

In my country the telecoms generally offer about 4-5 brands in total, and the prices are about double or tripple. Part of this is that it is pre-calculated that some of the phones will be faulty. The warranty service time is 1-2 months and sometimes it happens to call it 2-3 times to attempt to fix it before they give up and give you a new device.
Look at it as the normal cost - some taxes, - the office and sallaries of the mercaint and his profit, - the calculated % of the faulty phones to be replaced. Well... This simply should be considered when making a choice. BTW my seller (approved by UMI) does great so far, accepted the phone without negotiating and questions. Will see if I will and how get it back. Considering the distance, it is well.

Umi's communication with clients and client support is quie terrivle, trough....
