Reasonless heating is not even an issue of any stock software version of this phone. Your issue must've been lied on a software basis but probably background running apps caused it, not a badly tuned system.
The UMIDIGI S is built with MT6757D SoC, while the Plus E and S2 are built with MT6757, not the same processor. The latest Android SDK issued by MediaTek for the MT6757 SoC is for Android 6.01, that's why those two models can't get Android version upgrades.

Suppose UMIDIGI S agrees, yes on it MT6757D, and how Samsung made Android7 on SAMSUNG GALAXY C7 2017-on it 6757.

That's probably also an MT6757D based phone. On the other hand, they are the biggest android smartphone maker of the world, so they can do many things, that smaller manufacturers can't.

Firstly, thanks for the detailed answers. At the expense of SAMSUNG GALAXY C7 2017-it really is 6757, the same as ours, I dismantled the firmware with SAMSUNG GALAXY C7 2017-Android 7, apparently they have a really strong development team and there are kernel sources.

Dismantling the firmware won't tell you that info but you can check the real hardware with CPU-Z. The MT6757 highest clock speed is 2.34GHz, while it's 2.39GHz at the MT6757D.

You can see the same SoC identifier but different clock speeds.

In the blld.prop often write MT6757D or T, for SAMSUNG GALAXY C7 2017 just registered MT6757, but SAMSUNG GALAXY C7 is not in my hands, so I can not test its CPU Z.

The build.prop file can be freely edited by the developers (or by the user with root access) but usually only MT6757 is mentioned even if it's an MT6757D SoC. MT6757D is a code name used by MediaTek's SP Flash Tool only.
