Bad GPS reception on UMI Plus

I have recently bought an UMI Plus and have installed TomTom Go (GPS Navigation) and cannot get any signal in the car.
I also installed GPS Tools which is also showing little connection.  I compared with my old Samsung S5 and got reception.
Is this a problem with UMI or is there a fix?

If you have GPS signal fault in your device and you using latest ROM you need contact to reseller for warranty as software will not fix this.
Definitely the best fully compatible GPS app is Google maps.
Please try and let me know what is happening.
Some users mentioned that after switching off wi-fi and switching only device in location settings GPS signal got stronger.

I also have problems with the GPS of my Plus.
The app that works perfectly here is Here WeGo, however, in offline mode.
Try to do the test in your area and keep the GPS antenna area (top of the device) free of any obstacles.

I have problem with gps too. Latest Android 7, and of I go in my car, device show my car in map a few meters next ....

All Umi phones have crappy GPS, this is not a hardware defect (unless UMI consider all their devices to be defected.) There's a fix for this. Download an app called F-droid :https://f-droid.org/

(THIS FIX REQUIRES THAT YOU HAVE A ROOTED DEVICE TO WORK)

After installation on your phone let the repository update (it will take a few minutes from when you opened the app)

Now search "FasterGPS" and install it. After installation choose your region and the app will rewrite the gps.config file to the system partation.

I have done this myself and after this i can use my GPS as intended for my Umi Super. This fix is not just for umi phones but any phone so i dont see why it wouldnt be compatible with the Plus

\n\nI  have Android 7.0 and has just checked the GPS indoors standing behind a large window.  Got a 3D fix in 5 seconds using the app 'GPS Test' it shows the accuracy as 2m.

Experience in the car is very variable, the fix is erratic and hence the wrong turning may be given.
Have used as a walking tracker ' Google Geo Tracker'  with the phone in my pocket. Accuracy was  a little erratic as compared to my previous Moto G mobile.
Looking for a fix to sort out the accuracy of the GPS.

Faster GPS won't do it. I tried and same crappy GPS. Disappointing this UMI GPS thing. Want my money back!

I have the same problem too. My UMI Plus keeps loosing GPS signal. I have the latest firmware. Any solution yet?

Try to disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi search in "location" ;)

Hi, I'm facing issues with GPS (moving 100 m nearby while standing). Is this HW or SW issue? I'm using the latest 20170613 version.
