Umi Super screen replacement.

Greetings everyone. So yesterday ( 25th of July ) My phone fell through a hole in my pocket and when I picked the phone of the ground it had a scratch in the middle of the screen and a crack in the top left corner.As can be seen here:




Now I have been frantically searching for a kit to repair my screen. But it seems incredibly hard to find. Even AliExpress doesn't have it anymore: http://nl.aliexpress.com/store/p ... tml?storeId=1052115
So if anyone has any information where I could get one I would be overjoyed! I am from the Netherlands in case anyone was wondering.

There is two main types of OGS glass.
First type is in-cell OGS which digitizer is made directly on glass.
Second type is on-cell OGS which digitizer is attached on glass.
Both types are not able to be separated as are made as one unit in factory.
From customer points difference is that if you crack in-cell type there is no more respond from touch but on-cell could respond partially (from crack to wire connection)
If somebody find some solution to separate OGS glass from LCD then another problem which you face will be get correct glue and avoid any dust and alien objects when you try put everything together.
I would not recommend this method.

Theres a tear down on youtube somewhere of the umi super i remember watching it. Might help with your tear down and screen replacement.

but pay attention: it seems have no frame...

I'm searching for a screen replacement too, same broken screen as you. identical. When is Umi going to sell the screen?

Except for the broken power button (still work but the spring is broken) it's as good as new...

Hi,
Just one week after receiving my new Umi Super it felt down at the street in some stressy moment . It was a perfect dive, it felt right flat on its screen. The screen doen't work anymore for 99% of its surface. I can only swype down the small menu form above (see foto), nothing else is working. So I'm looking for a screen replacement (the white one because my phone is gold colour).

welcome to the club. I do not understand why the touchscreen does not work with a broken screen? is of very poor quality screens that team super umi. I do not believe that this is the Gorilla Glass 3

Hi,  I don't understand it either. My phone was in a case (see attachment). The phone dropped down from a height of 1 meter, right on the glass, the whole glass-surface touched the ground, the case/frame did not protect nothing. Because of the various scarves, the screen doesn't work anymore, in not one single spot of its surface. Just the small menu can be swiped form above. If it is Gorilla Glass or not, I don't know, but the heavy damage surprised me.
