Edited by cellorne at 2016-2-1 01:25 \n\nA few days ago in this forum someone provided a "solution" (to the touchscreen problem) using the "Engineer MTK Mode" App, but there was a big issue: Every time the phone got restarted you would lose all the changes and had to start over, which was a pain in the ass.
Searching further regarding a solution for this touch sensitivity/inaccuracy of the UMI Rome, I found the following article: http://www.rootupdate.com/2014/11/make-android-touch-screen-smooth-without-root.html
In it they proivide two apps users claim they greatly improve the issue on their phones. These apps are generic for Android phones regardless of their O.S.
I installed the second option they mentioned (" SGS Touchscreen Booster" App) as I saw it mentioned on another article, too. This app was originally created for a Samsung, but apparently works for any Android. I installed it, ran it, and restarted with no problem. One thing is for sure, the settings are kept after restarting, as the app has an option to start the app on restart. I changed the settings as the ones mentioned in the article:
Set: Sensitivity To - 80, Duration To register Touch - 0, Minimum Motion - 0, Motion Filter - 70, Multi Touch points - 2
Check "Start service on boot" and then click on "Apply changes"
The app seems to have the option of saving each custom change with a name, so we could also had a few custom settings and test them until we find the perfect one.
As I said, I installed it succesfully and applied the recommended settings as per the article, but have not used it that long to really tell if it improves or not (but at least it does not seem to make it worse). Maybe someone can test it further (or more intensively) installing it and then using an app they had problems with before installing this, to see if it's any better.
