Dear,

Before returning the product, I'm turning to these forums to see if there is a solution; I read similar threads but nothing is an exact match.

I received my Umi Z PRO phone last week. Unfortunately I'm experiencing problems that make the product nearly unusable.

- Mobile internet is NOT working at all. All apps say disconnected/disable airplane mode/ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED, etc.
I have tried with 2 SIM cards from 2 different providers. Both work fine in another device.
Yes, the APN settings are correct. No, Airplane mode is not on.

Although the vendor website said it should be compatible in my country (Belgium/Europe), nothing seems to work.
MCC=206 MNC=05. Support desk of the provider also says it is a device issue.
These are the frequencies:
2G capabilitiesGSM 900, GSM 1800
3G capabilitiesUMTS 900, 2100
4G capabilitiesLTE 800, LTE 1800, (LTE 2600)

- WiFi is horribly slow. My 3 year old Windows phone loads pages a lot faster than this device.

Is there a firmware update available that solves these issues? Does anyone have the same problems (and been able to solve it?)?
Or should I invoke my warranty, return the device back to Gearbest and buy a different phone? Or just throw it (and the 250$) in the thrash?

Hi,

The Z Pro is a pretty good phone. But it have a big problem when you are on roaming (not connected on the antenna from your provider)
For example: on not covered area, my provider using the network (antenna) from another provider. In this case, my phone loosing data. The calls and SMS are working, but not the MMS and, of course no Data.

At this moment, I am in Portugal, and you know what? No Data.

The hope is that Umidigi correct this BIG / BUG problem !

I am also having the same problem. My data is turned on, at&t says it shows it's on, but the stupid z pro won't connect, instead of having 4g LTE, the stupid thing only has 3g and is slow at. I wish umidigi would fix these issues, but instead they choose to rip people off and make more phones to rip off more people. Shame on Umidigi!

Update:

After a LOT of hassle, including getting another new SIM card, the operator switching me back to a network of older masts/antennae, and a lot of fiddling with the APN settings, I got 3G data working.
Due to the switchover, I will not be able to benefit from 4G connections in my country.

And WiFi stays slow (max. 20 Mbit/s). Seems it only wants to connect on the 2.4Ghz band. Hopefully a firmware update (soon?) will resolve it.

Overall, a pain-in-the-a** experience to get a new phone working.

My provider in Germany uses  O2 and Eplus (National Roaming).
So far I had almost no connection problems.
Mostly I have 4G and rarely it changes for a short time to 3G.

@banumbirr
I did not say your problem does not exist.
I only reported that I do not have this problem.

In this form, finally, something positive should be reported.
The people of UMIDIGI should not think that they did everything wrong.

Maybe go to this post and follow the instructions to flash the ROM from new. My Z Pro is working perfectly but my previous Touch had some issues that were fixed with a fresh installation of the ROM. It shouldn't be necessary from a new phone but is heaps easier than getting a replacement phone. In Australia one operator uses 700Mhz as one of its frequencies and the UMi phones don't use that but it hasn't made any difference to me. Hi, first post!
I've only had my Z Pro for a few days and have been happy with the phone. Interesting about Wifi and 4G speeds. I tested my speeds today and 4G got 28Mbps download and 18.7Mbps upload.  Was standing in an industrial Estate surrounded by buildings and the nearest 4G mast is 1.2km away on 3 UK network. Tried a Huwei P9 and got 22.6Mbps download and 16.2Mbps upload both phones next to each other at the same time but different networks.
