No autofocus while filming

So when I'm recording with the Umi Z, there's just no autofocus, is that normal? does everybody have it, and can it be fixet??

I have noticed cases where my Z appear to not like focusing or having a hard time doing so, but under good light and at least some contrast where i aim the camera it appear to work fine.

I have no idea if this are a common thing for phone cameras, i either use a fixed focus action or dash camera, or a true camcorder, and on extremely rare occasions my Nikon Dslr.
And i cant tell about phones as i am a extremely casual user that normally don't use the camera in the phone.

Mine is just totaly not working, I just tested it, and it's just not focussing.
I have to tap the screen everytime I want to focus....
