Hello everyone,

I bought an Umi Touch one year ago. After some problems with the mic, it works finally well.

But since few weeks, my umi doesn't want to start.
Firstly, i was running outside (it was cold, maybe that...) and my Umi starts rebooting again and again.
The following day, it works fine but 2 days after it decided to stop working.
I can't start it, I tried all (at least I think) : Power button, Pow + V-, Pow & V+, Pow & V- & Home, etc, nothing works.
While it's connected to a charger, it vibrates, displays the empty battery icon, reboot and then do this again and again.

Could it be due to a battery problem? Would it be worth to buy a new battery?
Maybe the battery died because it was cold outside ?

Thank you in advance for your help,

Pablo C.

Only charger can't send enough current to switch on phone and if batter is disconnected charging circuit is open so is no charging at all.

Hello,

thank you for the answer. I tried to flash the system with SPFT but i can't do that because  ...

Maybe your phone won't recognised by Windows due to incorrect installation of driver if you using Windows 10.If phone rebooting itself you can remove battery and then flash system.
Also you can try with battery but you need start flashing process and then press power button until start flashing system.

Hi
You could be right that battery could be faulty but if battery is completely damaged (internal failure) phone still should start charging your battery so battery indicator should showing that is charging and shouldn't reboot your device during charging.
I would recommend flash system with SPFT
Here is SPFT instruction but you should skip 6th step as you need overwrite all partitions

And here you have all available ROMs

Hello,

thank you for the answer. I tried to flash the system with SPFT but i can't do that because when I plug my phone to the PC, it reboots again and again like when it's plug on the charger On SPFT I tried to format, download and format + download but nothing appends, I think SPFT is waiting for a phone to be plug in but my Umi isn't even recognized by Windows (with and without battery).
I don't know how to flash the ROM in that conditions.

Good evening,

Pablo C.

PS: When I remove the battery and I plug my phone on the charger, nothing appends and I can't turn it on. Is that normal?

I'm using Windows 8.1. If I remove the battery, I can't flash system because my PC doesn't recognized my phone at all (no sound, no device installation). With battery, I started the download process, plug my phone and press power button but nothing changed, it continued to restart without any reaction from windows...

HiDid you follow this procedure for windows 8?
https://thebroodle.com/android/i ... vers-windows-8-8-1/

After install drivers like this link
https://thebroodle.com/microsoft ... drivers-in-windows/

After that, press download on SF FLASH and plug your phone without pressing on power button.

I followed all the steps but again, nothing works. For me it can't be a driver problem because the phone restarts every 4-5 seconds and during this time displays only red battery (really shortly, ~ 0.2 second) + vibrates.
I think it's either a motherboard problem or a battery problem.
