Sorry for your inconvenience with my explanation as there could be some misunderstanding.
Umi plus can be updated to android 7.0 through to OTA.
http://community.umidigi.com/article-261-1.html . There is information about OTA update and big possibilities of loosing user data as this is major update.
We know that already some users updated umi plus devices to android 7.0 through to OTA as this update is on umi servers.
The next information is about wireless / OTA zip file update. To use this method firstly you need download zip file on your phone memory or computer and swap to phone memory then you need inform (settings - about phone - wireless update - top right corner three dots - local update - internal storage) you phone that you want use this file and then phone is unpacking zip file and installing whole ROM (not just update) I did say that currently we don't have this wireless /OTA zip file.
Next one is through to SPFT and whole ROM file. You can always use this option to recover your device, or update you phone straight to latest ROM or downgraded to older ROM. We provide whole ROM and all needs tools on this link http://community.umidigi.com/thread-5751-1-1.html
Another information is about FOTA update. As I said FOTA update is only update so this is system repairing patches which is not taking to much space and definitely you will not lose your user data as whole system is staying the same.
There could be some misunderstanding as is so many different names for updating options. But don't worry you will definitely get on your umi plus latest version of Android 7.0.
