i have the same issue on my ROME. I use GiffGaff in the UK which runs on o2
The o2 APN's are there which the data can run on but doesn't connect.
Having manually input them myself, then restarting, still nothing.
The problems I am having with this 1 week old phone is awful!!!
UMI will not give any support from what i have read on these forums. Now, as we speak, i changed the sim to an EE network just to check if the data works on that. it asked for my pin. it does not accept it??? So i put my old sim in.... it saying its wrong no matter what i do!!!!! So the mobile data doesn't work, the pin won't work along with my other issue, the touch screen.
It's not as bad as some I've read about but, typing is a nightmare. I'ts not accrate plus it just doesn't flow. When you drag down the notiforcation dropbox, It takes afew good long swipes, right from top to bottom.
I will be complaining directly, If I get no response, I will post a youtube video to over 150k followers I have on twitter showing all the unanswered plee's for help on her, along with my reconmendation not to buy any UMI devices. Theres loads of very good high spec low cost device like HOMTOM, lenovo, Elephone, Ulefone, the list goes on and on.
UMI said they were basing all of their devices on whag thd people/customers wanted. Thats what i loved about UMI. Phones made on what we wanted. But no, no help now.
I have 1000‘ s of people who want my advice and reconmendations. UMI wont be getting anything but negitive unless they help me like they promised

Hi,

Sorry but do you have a working SIM card in your phone?

why do you ask ?
it souds like if you think he is stupid or dumb
of course the sim must be working thats why he es asking!
the thing i know is that some carriers provide that info if call them
in other cases you send a message at som digits and they send the configuration to the phone
that can work
back to the question
i suppose to have 3g connection but my umi only show E with a little e on top
thats is correct?
the phone drain my battery for been in 3g mode and i dont have the speed of the connection
i used to have a iphone4 and i have 3g signal with the same SIM card
can somebody help or give some solution to me and the other question regarding to the UMI ROME X?

Hi,

I replied niamex's post and my question was relevant in his case but he haven't come back with an answer.
Your issue is different and a such little information doesn't make it possible to find the source of your problem remotely. It can be both a hardware or software issue.
I suggest you to check in Settings --> More --> Cellular networks --> Preferred network types whether it's set to 3G. If that's okay, you should find a very well covered area (downtown, at malls etc.) and check if you still don't get a 3G connection. If you nowhere and never get 3G but the 2G connection works properly, then the reason is rather a software bug, that you can solve by flashing your phone with SP Flash Tool. You can find the resources in the ROM section.

Hi,

First of all, if you want to get support, please contact support@91umi.com or send a private message via our facebook page. If not anybody else, I reply each facebook question every day. The email questions are currently replied by a new and young colleague, who's being trained yet, needs my support, so she's not always ready. This place is for the community, not to get support from the company.
In your specific case, maybe that's a trivial question but after you set your APN data, did you save your settings? If yes, and your input data was correct, you should have got a working mobile data connection in any circumstances if the mobile data is active for your subscription.
