I don't know what about other UMI phones (probably the same), but UMI eMax doesn't support the exFAT file system for the micro SD card and OTG drives. Only FAT32 is aplicable but that system has a file size limit of 4GB. So, even if you install a big capacity memory card and despite that you have a full HD screen and a strong processor, that's impossible to copy and carry FHD movies, since most of them are much bigger than 4GB. To split such video files is usually impossible without re-encoding them.
Leader brands already support exFAT system but in my opinion, in the age of FHD movies and cheap SXDC memory cards, that should be supported by all smartphones.
As far as I know, the technology can be licenced from TUXERA that's officially cooperated with Microsoft, the developer of the exFAT system.
I hope, UMI will take the appropriate efforts to put exFAT support in future firmwares. That doesn't need special hardware anyway, all existing phones can get the ability.
Please, vote. Do you want to use exFAT formatted memory cards in your phone to be able to copy larger than 4GB files?
