Something wrong with screen lock

\n\nTry this...
Set the countdown timer in the clock app to say 30 seconds. After this time the alarm should beep.
Now repeat the excercise but after activating the countdown, turnoff the screen and lock.
The alarm never beeps.
None of my alarm/reminder notifications sound if the screen is off.
Also, I do not receive sms messages if the screen is off
This for me is a major fault and needs to be rectified fast.
Does anyone else experience the above or have I just got a dud phone?

I had an similar issue. My UMI had to different Clock apps (both seemingly the stock version), but one was in the UMI ROM and the other one was restored from previous android backups and downloaded automatically. There's basically no way to tell them apart, except one can be disabled and the other can't. The one integrated in the ROM works without any problems.

That was exactly my trouble, two clocks installed, one from a backup. I removed the extra one and all now works.

Good to hear! It's a pretty stupid (and weird error), but at least there is an easy fix!

Yes, just need to sort out the SMS and 4G problems and I will be quite happy with this phone, oh and camera improvement would be good too

This is incorrect section.
This clock could be on due to "daydream" activated. This option helping to monitoring device when is docked (charged). Go to settings - display - daydream.
