I've got whatsapp running nicely from Umi Super (0616) but desktop Whatsapp will connect through Whatsapp Web - getting the following -
And yes, my phone has an active Internet connection.
I've also reviewed Whatsapp FAQ and can't resolve...everything works ok with my previous phone...and inclined to think it's a Umi Super issue.
uninstall whatsapp and clear cache and re install it from playstore mine is working without problems. Let me know the result and I will try to help further

Hmm, I've never had issues with the desktop app, except for the one I'd posted. That was with the Android app restored from my online Google backup and having manually copied the whatsapp database from my other phone.
