Even when the S2Pro is a decent phone with a nice design, great built quality, huge screen, even with a noise cancelling mic, no bigger bugs, there are of course some advertisement lies to be aware of:
- there are more and more tests (check www.chinamobilemag.de) show that already some seconds under water will destroy the phone for sure.
- the second cam is just a dummy
- the battery might be 3500 mAh, by the way, its not possible to measure/calibrate the battery via app

I was somehow aware of this before I purchased the phone. As I was more interested in big memory, big screen, at least sufficient battery. For this I'am quite happy with the device. I hope Umidigi will improve the cam software and the overall performance (UmiOs makes the phone laggy). Then I would still recommend the phone. But with the warning: don't put the phone into water and don't expect 2 days of usage ;)

You can use unofficial umi OS with removed some unwanted apps and with different launcher.
Here is ROM and instruction

Phone was never advertised as waterproof!!!!!
Was advised as water splash protected.
Umidigi tested few samples in water and we never failed. Motherboard and some of other components are protected with nano coating but water can access into device.

Comments

So basically the phone cannot go under water for even a minute or it will be damaged? And what's your comment in the the 2nd camera being fake. They are ways to verify this. Example covering one them  Post time 2017-12-29 01:32

Second camera is not fake because is existing also system is using second camera to focus background and increase light entering into sensor under certain conditions.
Everybody know that the battery need few full charging and discharging cycles to get full capacity.
Nobody can give you any guarantee that you not damage phone if you put in to water.

I know that it was not advertised as waterproof, but as nanocoated. At the mentioned test page they found out, that only certain parts are nanocoated - but not e.g the mainboard and that the device in the video was a bit different from those available to buy. But don't worry: Iam still happy with the phone. My point is just: more honest advertisement will bring more happy customers.

Same with the cam: I made lots of tests, with and without closing the second cam - all pictures were exact the same, the second cam makes absolut no difference, there is no visible effect. But same here: I don't care, for me a Bokeh is actually something unwanted, I don't like blurry pictures. When, then I will use GIMP for effects.

So for me its still a decent phone with huge memory, brilliant screen and acceptable battery... Its just: beware of maybe angry customers who took the videos literally

What Umidigi can do, to satisfy the customers:  be just a bit more honest with advertisement and try to offer at least a handfull OTA updates in the following months, so that the camera makes better pictures and the system behaves a bit more fluid. And I know, lots of people want to change the UI (but Iam fine with the current UI).

...PS: I test now the battery... I also used a battery calibration tool before shutting down and charged up to 100%. Looks good for now
