Amaxamed,
People who buy UMIDIGI or most chinese brands are somewhere techno-fans. More concerned by technology and specs that the standard mainstream customer.
Thus, we are perfectly aware of the usual marketing-oriented behaviour, photoshoping pictures, editing and improving photos taken, literary license and so on. Brands you quoted are doing it, but they both have software and harware that goes at par with it. Speaking of cameras, Samsung and Apple for instance, are worldly acknolewdged as great devices to take pics with.
I personally checked reviews before buying my Plus E. I knew that camera was average. But I assumed, as most users, that harware being of good quality, it could be improved by an update, initiated by customers feedback.
Same for other bugs and issues faced. UMIDIGI may claim every now and then that their supoprt is great, but then how come forum is filled with users complaining about the same issues, again, and again ?
Once more, topic is not if device is a bargain or not. Topic is not if quality vs price is good or nit. Indeed IT IS !
Topic is a company that keeps promising things and don't fullfill it. If you don't plan to deliver it, or if you aren't sure whether you will be able to deliver it, don't promise it ! exactly like with a child. otherwise your customers will be frustrated, disapointed, and will start to be feeling cheated, whatever the quality of your product is.
Then let me not agree with your statement "you get what you pay for".
Your quoted brands, apple and samsung are the best examples. You may perfectly find similar quality and specs devices for half the price. With adequate support and bugs free. Xiaomi, Huawei, HTC, ZTE, OnePlus all chines, btw...
A few years ago, google and LG launched the nexus 4. Then nexus 5 . Then OnePLus hit the market. Those were true flagship killers, with a very low price and high end specs and devices running smoothly and bugfree.
