Having had this Umidigi Z Pro for one week now I can say I thoroughly enjoy the speed and responsiveness of the phone, however it seems to suffer from incredibly weak signal, which is killing it for me. I've noticed it will have a clear 4G signal when on my desk, but the second I pick it up it drops to 3G or even E, which leads me to believe it's due to the antenna placement or implementation itself. I've also had several complaints of bad call quality and drop outs because of this. Previously my Nokia Lumia had a solid 4G no matter where I used it or how I held it, and other devices receive full signals with no drops.

Living in the Highlands of Scotland, I need all the signal strength I can get, so as much as I like the device, if it can't perform the basics of receiving decent signal strength, all the bells and whistles in the world are of no use.

Is this a common / known issue?
I'm doubtful, but is there a software fix? (Though if it's hardware/antenna related, that's unlikely)

I like the device, but if this is an inherent issue I'll have to return it and look elsewhere.

Any help?

Same issue here, i think it is a Software error and it also drains a lot of battery then connected to the Wifi.

Hi
Every dual sim card phone have smaller antenna than single sim card.
You can't really fix this with device.
Only one way you have to get "signal repeater" to push strong signal from outside to inside of building.

I can't say I've noticed battery drain on Wifi, but then this is my first new phone in 4 years, so i can't say I have any real idea of what to expect from battery life on new devices.
I did just make a quick video to demonstrate my issue, though. It can have full signal, but as soon as I pick it up or the bottom half is obstructed in any way, the signal strength plummets. That makes it...kind of difficult to use as a phone!

Oh really? I didn't realise dual sim devices had such an issue. That will be something for me to look out for in future!

As it stands, I'm going to TRY and return this phone, which is a shame as I really like it otherwise, but the signal dropping every time I pick it up would make for a frustrating year or two of using it.

Maybe you should try use only one sim card for day to see will this give you any difference.
Then you can go to settings - more - mobile networks - preferred network - and choose 3G. Test for one day. I know that this is only 3G but If will be strong without jumps than maybe you will be satisfied until next update.

I went back to my Oneplus 2 and way better Cell phone signal, but i had to go back to my Z Pro because of a faulty Lcd on my Oneplus, does Umidigi have a fix for this or is it because the antenna is behind the alu casing backside pf the phone?
