Do not receive text messages while screen is locked - SOLVED

When my screen is locked, I do not receive any text messages. It is not just a problem that I don't get any notifications; when I unlock the screen and enter my text app, there are just no new messages. I do receive text messages as long as the phone is not locked.

I've tried:
- restarting the phone
- enter my sim card in  another phone

I've been looking at different forums, but none seems to match my problem

Any suggestions?

Are you using stock text app?
Are you using smart locks or any other type of screen lock?
Did you changed any settings in texts (SMS) - three dots in top right corner - text (SMS) - SMS service centre -
Of course try other settings too.
Did everything work in other phone?

Indeed using stock text app
Have smart lock with fingerprint
If I changed settings in SMS app? Probably, but I did receive SMS while phone was unlocked, so do not directly see a link to my problem (but then again, I'm not able to solve the problem my self, ...)
Everything seems to work in other phone
Had Apex Launcher (but removing did not solved the problem)
Had Push Bullet (but again, removing it did not solve the problem)

Did a factory reset, not taking over installation of previous phone. Did a quick test and I now do receive text messages when the phone is locked.

Will gradually install apps and do some further tests to see when (if at all) the problem re-appears.
