Hello, yesteday my Max dropped from my front poket hoodie and got a small crack on the bottom near 'back' button, in like 20 minutes half of the screen was cracked but the thing that made me so upset is that it doesn't work anymore, half of the phone is dead. Until today i used the fingerprint scanner to unlock my phone as i can't type in the pin code because i have 2 numbers on the dead part of the screen. Now i can't login using the fingerprint, i can't type my pin code so what is to be done? Is there a way to trick it and bypass the pin code so i can remove it from setings?

I managed to make it work by factory reset since I had a backup 2 weeks ago and didn't lose much info.

But for my curiosity, how is the display built since all other phones, even the cheapest ones still work after you break the glass.

Hi
Realistically cheap phone using OGS screens/touches for reducing price, giving better feeling, less weight, less thickness, better touch but if you brake glass then your screen will be completely unresponsive on in-cell type but on-cell give you response only on connector side (half screen etc.)
Another thing is that the OGS screen is easier to replace compare other types as is coming as full unit. Of course price of parts will be more expensive but labour will reduce full repair cost.
Only TP (glass with digitizer) unit will be around €13 but repairs is hard and nearly impossible at home but you can get full unit (glass with digitizer and lcd) for around €35 and replace your self.
