It can be done with Xposed module GravityBox -> Status Bar Tweaks -> Signal Cluster Settings -> Disable network type indicator.

If you want you use xposed you need root the phone folow this guide http://community.umidigi.com/for ... &highlight=twrp I works perfectly!

Not a good solution, as i need the phone to be unrooted to run some apps.
