So after having been out of my lair a couple of times i have discovered a issue with my Z phone ( fully updated and factory reset )

When the display read anything less than 4G at the top i have no mobile data, i can make calls and so on just fine on 3G or less, but data that should also still be there is gone.

Okay i have just looked inside the phone ( ENG mode ) and it dont seem like it support the 2100 MHZ band 1 for 3G, but other 3 G bands it do support ( 900 MHZ band 8 )
So i would assume in 3G my phone is on 900 mhz and mobile data should work there too i would assume

Also there is no 2100 MHZ 3G i can turn on in the phone, actually i cant turn on anything but what i already selected, and then i can deselect one of those if i please.

Seem like my provider have reframed the 2100 MHZ 3G channel to 4G

I dont sem to be able to turn on Band # 33 & 34 ( 4G / 2100 mhz ) that i would like to try to see if that change anything.
Is there something i have to do to be able to add / turn on other channels in bandmode ??

I thinking that your network provider skipped 3G band for data connection. Please contact to network provider for more informations.

I think i might have misunderstood something ( remember very casual phone user here )

Anyways the day i was tuned into this was on Wedensday where me and my friend was out driving our little RC off road trucks, and this time we went to a new place in the most uneven / hilly part of Denmark ( tallest place in Denmark is like 107 M tall so dont think like we have mountain ranges here )

Anyway driving home my friends cheap Nokia phone ( only 3 G but otherwise we have same provider ) was keeping up with google maps + satellite view updating our progress and the satellite maps.
On the other hand my phone lying beside his phone on the dashbord had no data connection and so was not able to even log into google maps or other services.
And both phones had 3G in the display ( same provider and same subscription we have )
Only when we got to a major town ( Silkeborg ) and my phone said 4G was i able to get data again.

I found out at home that i can also get data if the phone display say 3G, but some times i also cant get data ( this is on the toilet in my apartment as its the only place where i dont have 4G )

Sure at home i could use wifi if i turned that on in my internet router, but i really hate wifi so i dont use it.

I know,,,,,,,,,, i am a special person

Anyways i will keep a eye on this as time and updates move on, remember i am a very casual user so truth be told i could do without a phone if i wanted to

Just took a look at the coverage map of our provider, and that make it even more confusing i was not able to get data on that drive.
I have marked the approx route we drove from start to the end in Silkeborg when i finally got data again.
AS you can see by coverage map there is no wonder my friends Nokia was doing alright keeping up with google maps / satellite view, and even stranger why my phone was not able to provide data on most of that drive in that area.

Please swap sim card between slots and if you can please use your friend sim card.
To test 3G please go to settings - more - mobile networks - preferred network type - 3G then go to network operators search for your network on list and choose 3G.
Also please check APN settings.

I have not been thinking about changing sim slot, thats a good idea and easy to change from slot 1 to slot 2.

It will also be no problem borrowing my friends sim card.
