Hello guys!
Does anyone have the same problem?
From the very moment I received Umi Z I felt som troubles about touch ID button. It lives its own life I guess...
It can work well for few hours just giving me opportunity to use it as ID button to unlock screen e.g. as well as a standart function of home button. Then it can rapidly 'turn off' and stop responding. I tried to turn on /off virtual buttons, reboot the phone, turn it off/on. But unfirtunately you can't guess when it starts working again. Another case about this button is that vibration seems to be much lighter from time to time when I press the button. When it stop working vibration stops responding as well.
What should I do?
Is it physical problem of the phone & I need to send it back for a change or it's software trouble and next version of firmware will solve the bug?

Thanks & have a nice time!

I believe this is yet another SW bug. I have been facing the same.
Looks like sometimes the home button is stuck an only vibrates like it is trying to unlock the phone with a fingerprint.
It gets back to normal when I press the Back button.

That's a bit different behavior from what I have been experiencing, yet my guess would still be a SW issue.
This phone is buggy as hell. I haven't seen such a rushed release  for a long time.

i agree, it is buggy as hell, this ROM was not tested properly. Did you update to the last ROM version?

I've updated the latest firmware (downloaded at settings menu).
I hesitate wether it's the same as ROM or not.

Hi
Firstly please perform factory reset (settings - backup and reset - factory data reset)
Then check for updates (settings - about phone - wireless update - check for updates)
If still not working please use SPFT
http://community.umidigi.com/thread-11-1-1.html
And flash with latest available ROM (not 4,4V 3800mAh)
