Request to get dedicated Android 7.0 OTA upgrade

Dear UMi Super users,

Many users don't care about what Android version is installed on their phones, some of them are interested but it's not urgent for them but some of them need the upgraded version as soon as possible. However, the OTA server cannot make a such difference between users when pushing out the update files and due to the big amount of data (can be more than 1GB at this time), that might need weeks to upgrade all handsets from Android 6.0 to 7.0.
Now we offer a dedicated Android 7.0 OTA upgrade for UMi Super for the first 200 users, who need it urgently.
How it works?
You just have to send your IMEI number (only one of the two but whichever) in an email to (email address has been removed)
Please write in the Subject field only (the body won't be read) as the following:
UMi SUPER Android 7.0 OTA - IMEI: 123456789012345
Of course, enter your own, unique 15-digit IMEI number. Please double check it before sending.
You can print on screen your IMEI numbers by dialing *#06#
We will hand over your IMEI number to the product engineer, and he will send the update file directly to your phone. The whole process needs 2-3 days to be done as promised. This campaign is going to finish on this Sunday or as soon as we receive 200 requests.
Warning! Don't post your IMEI number here on the forum, where anybody can see it. It's a private data that makes it possible to identify your location.

Sincerely yours,
Ben, UMi Team

EDIT 21.01.2017: If you send me a screenshot (image file) as an attachment rather than copying your IMEI (as text) into the subject field, you can be sure your phone won't be updated in this round.
EDIT 23.01.2017: This campaign has been closed. Users who haven't applied here for the OTA update will receive it automatically after the middle of February.

None of this is life or death, but it comes down to "does my product work as it should"? If the answer is no then users have every right to be frustrated.
My "mobile phone" drops connectivity when moving faster than 40km/h and struggles to connect to Bluetooth devices. Given a phone's primary purpose is to connect to things, that's a big fail.
Umi have previously said on the forum that the OS is the culprit which I doubt a lot, but given I don't see any newer firmware updates I jumped at the chance for a newer OS to see if that makes my phone usable when I'm not stationary.

Hey, don't know if you noticed, but they posted a new thread a few hours ago with the information about the ROM

http://community.umidigi.com/thread-6292-1-1.html

They are uploading the ROM in the thread right now, as well as the flashable ROM as a ROM for local OTA update
cheers

Once I get the OTA update file, I will share it in the ROM section, so anybody will be able to install it manually. Today the SPFT release was not yet available. Tomorrow the Spring festival holiday is beginning in China, so until about 3rd February we won't get any news.

Thanks. If we're one of the first 200 - how will we know (other than our phone starts upgrading in 2-3 days). Will you notify us by reply email, or will something come up on the phone?

You'll be notified by the system as usually or you also can check it manually in 'Settings --> About phone --> Wireless update' as usually. No email will be sent.

This will be a full feature final version but the Harlequin LED will have only those basic settings, what are available now in the beta release as well. The full feature Harlequin LED settings will be available by a later update after the Chinese New Year period.

I just hope that the final version is bug free. BTW some of the translations to Dutch are just something out of "google translate"
And yes I'm free to help for free with this.

i struggle to understand why any of us 'need' to have the android 7 update before anybody else, just seems like this is building in a further 2-3 day delay for the majority of users, (ok, so i'm a grinch)

I don't quite understand the point of this. A firmware update isn't a life or death matter. I for one can wait a few more weeks.
