I just unboxed my UMI Super, got it on my wifi, updated Android and transferred settings from my old phone. Now the battery is on 86%, and the phone does not respond to the charger. No LED, no indication, no nothing - and of course no charging. I also tried with the phone turned off, and the battery didn't charge at all.

Should I give up and return the box straight away, or is there something I could do - f.ex. test the USB-cable somehow? Tested the charger with another USB-cable, and it was fine, but I have no other USB-C devices or cables, and I don't want to buy one, if I don't have to ...

The best option will be test usb wire but if you don't have other wire you can perform factory reset (settings - backup and reset - factory data reset)
Then try charge again.
If don't start changing you can go to engineering mode (type to call dialer *#*#3646633# *#*) and go to log and debugging - battery log and check battery status.
You can go to engineering mode - hardware testing - power - charge battery - and check ADC charger voltage (when charger is not plugged in us 0V, slow charging around 5V, quick charger 7V.
