Problem with 4G/LTE connection

Hi,

My national gsm operator's LTE frequency (Plus gsm) is supported by my device (UMI Max, 1800Mhz), but it can't connect to 4G, only to 3G. I tried many things, including changing APN settings, rebooting, going into engineering mode, etc., but all of that did nothing. Anyone here got the same problem? LTE worked flawlessly with my previous device - Huawei Honor 5x.

Thanks in advance for giving me tips, how to solve that issue,

You can always go to shop and ask for sim replacement to latest version or to test your sim card. This sim card could work on your other device as could support other Lte band.
If I correctly remember plus is main network provider and there is no roaming.
Please go to settings and check is your phone see 4G network.
Go to settings - more - mobile networks - preferred network type - 4G
Then go to settings - more - mobile networks - network operators - wait for list and search for your network if is 4G available please choose and wait for registration.
If everything will be fine for few days do same thing but go to choose automatically.

APN is only for Internet access this is nothing to do to connecting to 4G network.
Which firmware you using? Setting - about phone - build number.

\n\nI got the network set like you've mentioned front the beginning. It's 20161017 version.
Edit: I think It is worth to mention, that with different APN settings my phone caught LTE signal for few seconds, just to swap IT back to 3G right after. I am completely clueless what to do now.

So you choose preferred network 4G and network operators registered to 4G too. And phone still trying change to 3GSo if you have everything checked you should check your sim card as I mentioned previously.
If nothing help you can do factory reset settings - backup and reset - factory data reset.

I'll wait for the answer from my provider, if that fails, I'll try factory reset.

IMPORTANT : I went into *#*#4636#*#* mode (not sure how that secret menu is named, but nvm) and switched my band to AUS. My signal went into strong 4G immediately. It works for now.
