update v1.01_20161017 dont work properly

From Austria Salzburg,

try to upgrade to
update v1.01_20161017
after download  upgrade software and start upgrade, programm remains at least more than half an hour in "reboot" mode and nothing happend ...
please help and support

Probably you trying update from 20160810 software number.
There is some firmware error in 20160810  and you need use SPFT to update your phone to latest version. Firstly you can try factory reset settings - backup and reset - factory data reset and try again OTA update.
If doesn't help use SPFT follow this links

I am having this issue has well. I gave a Umi Max to my mother but it´s stuck in the 20160810 software, when I try to update to 20161017 when it gets to "rebooting phone" nothing happens. This is very disappointing. Are you saying I will have to reset her phone to get it to work= Why cant Umi provide another OTA update, one that works properly?

FOTA update is working correctly.
If you getting update notification you can perform factory reset (settings - backup and reset - factory data reset) and then try use FOTA update

Factory reset will work but this doesn't mean that you will be able update your device.

That was my point. So in your opinion I should follow all those steps to flash it manually?

You have two options1 Perform factory reset (settings - backup and reset - factory data reset) and then try use FOTA update.
2 Update your device to latest available ROM using SPFT

I used the SPFT and I am now with the lastest firmware version. Will FOTA work from now on?
