UMI Super Screen replacement --> Touch KO

Hello,

I am a newbie in forum and have a problem on UMI Super

I ordered a new lcd + touch screen for my UMI Super because mine was broken. i received et replaced it. Replacement is simple and easy...

But after replacement, when i start phone, LCD display seems to be good but when phone ask me to enter pin code i can't because touch seems to be misaligned.
For exemple :

• if i touch 1 it make a 7
• if i touch backspace it make a 9
• if i want make a 1 i must touch top left corner of the phone
• if i want make a 3 i must touch top right corner of the phone
• etc ....
  

What do you think it means ?

Do i need to do something else than screen replacement to make it works : hard reset in recovery or something else, reinstall ROM ?

Everything is connected correctly, I made and remade several times but to no avail.

Do you have a solution for me?

I waited one month before having the replacement screen and it does not work. I am very disappointed ...

Please tell me how much time did you spend to install the new lcd+tp? and the new rom?

It is easier to install the new lcd+tp or the new rom, please?

In the new tp with the old rom when i press the 1 it makes 7, isnt it?

Hello all,

I finally decided to order the UMI Super screen/TP replacement to repair my MAX as it should be the very same piece of hardware. I will let you all know what happens after I replace the broken screen with the new one. I also bought a screen protector and case this time....

I have ideas but wouldn't say anything until I don't know something for sure. We know that, the stock recovery doesn't contain any touch screen drivers but the TWRP one does.

I bought my screen on umispain site and i have an open ticket on their support site.

The give me some informations but i want to test on my phone before giving bad or good news.

I am going to make operations tonight and i will give you some news after.

But if somebody else is facing the same issue and found solutions, i'm listening to all proposals, like you

Here's the result of manipulations that Umispain asked me to do.

I again completely disassembled my phone, then I plugged the old screen. I then flashed the latest ROM (Super 3.02_20160810).

Then I again dismantled the phone and replaced the old screen with the new one.

I then restarted the phone.

Results : nothing has changed, I can't select language by clicking on it when the android start page appears. I must touch the top of the screen to see language menu. It is not difficult to select one, it is almost impossible.
When I click on the arrow to move to the next course, leaving the default language, nothing happens Either

It's the same as before, all that i've done did not change anything

My phone is out of order for more than a month for now. It's getting very long to solve the problem, problem that should normally be easily solved by a mere screen change.

I suspect a touch screen malfunction on the new screen that i bought on Umispain site

What do you think about it and have you got any idea on how to solve issue if it's not a screen replacement malfunction ?

It never seemed like a software problem I have the feeling is hardware related. I'm guessing the pin connectors for the LCD/ Digitiser are made different from the original ones.

I bought mine in Ali Express and am waiting for a reply from the buyer.

PS: is there actually anyone working for UMI navigating this forum... It's a shame the lack of interest in the community problems.

I am always in contact with Umispain support. In the ticket i opened, i said that after looking at the references etched on the metal part of the screen frame i have the following information:

- on my original screen: U1 YQ193 V1 with manufacturing date 2016-5-23
- on replacement screen: U1B YQ193 V1 with manufacturing date 2016-8-4

It seems that there are some reference difference

Secondly, as regards the cable on top of the screen (cable and connector for the touch I think), the wiring in the FPC looks quite different from my original screen.

@phoztek : it seems we are agree

Perhaps is this a new hardware screen evolution that need specific upgrade of motherboard firmware, i don't know...
Or simply, this screen may not be compatible with our phones

I was just looking around at the UMI MAX and UMI SUPER specs and it seems the difference is only the storage space.

I am wondering if the screen we got is for UMI MAX and not for UMI SUPER ... !?

My original doesn't have the B letter but the replacement is just like yours !
