Edited by DANIBOY77 at 2015-12-14 01:53 \n\nAs part of a future purchase, could you give me your opinion on the service of life and satisfaction of your umi do, for my part I am disappointed that the update on the Emax is not here, but I want a phone with lollipop ...
So I hesitate to buy again umi .. above all when I see the provided follow-up in competition as elephone for example...

I welcome your comments, opinions, please ...

Thanks

Hi Daniboy,

I got an Umi eMax a few weeks ago but send it back to the seller after realising that there will not be an update to Android Lollipop. Very disappointing and a no-go for a company which tries to establish on the western market. But i liked the device, so I ordered the eMax Mini. Unfortunately, I had an issue with the 3G network (which you can read in another thread), but thanks to bencebancsi´s help and tools I could solve it. Although there are some little problem/limitations (LED-notification, loudness, Rootjoy) I´m happy with it. Battery, display, camera, stock ROM is all fine for a 150 €-device in Germany.

I also ordered an UMI Rome and am very curious how it´ll be supported by UMI (Rootjoy, ROMs) and if they´ll keep their promises.

My subjective feeling for now is that their service is not as good as it should be to become a game changer (which they seem to try to be).

At first , it is very beautiful, lightweight, battery holds charge. The sound is excellent, better thant Edge+.
But I found two default. 1 not stable gyroscope on my own, i test rom...
2 Without lollypop, I do not see the interest.

Umi if an effort is not with Lollypop is the latest phone that I bought. I would take Xiaomi or other.
Show the pub around by putting lollypop, and nothing. More than disappointing

The lies of UMI on the update of Emax , the defects cameras and lack of communication, but, yes, I think I would still choose the brand my future purchase...

Why ? :
!
- the phones have sold with the root
- Cheap price and good qualities and specs (except the camera, we agree )
- JOYROOT

the balance is cepandant increasingly heavy for the other side , with the zero communication and updates to ads that are not made on the Emax,  make me shudder...

I will update but UMI Fair is a Christmas present and astonishing for the price point...
Reading here about 3G issues - I can't get 4G on my phone (UK) and not a techie guru guy. Is there a process I missed to get phone to connect? Sim in first slot.
Also where is the user manual? Just a card box and not even a weblink to a guide or PDF.
Liking this phone so far, still trying to decipher the settings, getting fingerprint to actually WORK, and understand the camera settings!

The Umi phones have a good hardware for a great price, but there isn't software optimization because there are a lot of little bugs (or big bugs in some case). After 3-5 month the support for the phone ends because a new model is launched, so isn't convenient buy a Umi device.

Umi must understand that for at least an year the phone must have support, optimizations and android upgrade, furthermore MUST solve all bugs before to stop the support .

Some years ago, there was an advertising with this phrase "Power is nothing without control", well, this phones are "nothing"
