I'm sorry to say that, but you didn't. So, some explanation. UMI's portfolio is very similar to the current Apple one. In this year they produce bigger phone (5.5 inches: eMAX, Hammer, Hammer S, Iron, Iron Pro and Rome) and smaller phone (5.0 inches: Fair and eMAX mini). So these are eight different models announced this year but in fact, they're almost identical in price and performance. They targeted almost the same customer group. There are eight similar phones but no entry level small phone (4.0"-4.5") or waterproof and shockproof phone for example. Moreover, as a really weird thing, the recent flagship (Iron Pro) is built with a significantly lower performance processor than its half year older predecessor. So, there are a lot of similar devices following an irrational marketing strategy. A lot of money spent on developing new hardware while that can't give real benefits. For a such small manufacturer, that would be quite enough to release only one flagship a year but with the best support, plus cheaper and special devices with only one, but working software. So, the flagship could build up the brand and sell the cheaper phones as well.
Since I've already got an eMAX Mini and could test it in many ways, I can confirm that, the Snapdragon 615 CPU is obsolete, except if you build it in an entry level phone. However, the eMAX mini is just a few bucks cheaper than the normal eMAX. It's overall performance is identical to the one that the MT6735 SoC can produce. |
