Z1 mic sound

  Hi there, I have just purchased a z1 and when on messenger or duo doing video calling othe other person can hardly hear me and all they hear is a noise like a sea-beach. As soon as I plug in headphones all seems ok, normal phone calls tend to be fine also, can you advise ? Chris.

This is a forum for the Umi Z.
As for your problems I would check the hardware first, there should be a code for a service menu when you can test most of the hardware components like gyroscope, LCD, or microphones. I would also try some sound recording app to exclude potentional problem with your microphone. If the hardware is okay the it is propably a software issue but with that I can´t help you much. i don´t have a Z1 phone so I can´t test it.

Thanks, I have tested with a sound recorder and all seems fine but as soon as you use messenger or duo etc it then shows the fault. It is very strange as on these apps as soon as you plug in a headset it's fine !!
