Have you checked your APN ? what is your provider ? what 4G frequencies ?
Are you sure about your area 4g coverage  ?

I live in Dominican Republic, my provider are Claro And Orange
GSM/EDGE: 900 MHz / 1800 MHz / 1900 MHz
Orange
3G: 900 MHz  LTE: 1800 MHz (Banda 3) / 1900 MHz (Banda 2)
claro:CDMA:  1900MHz GSM/EDGE: 850 MHz / 1900 MHz 3G:   850 MHz
LTE: 1700 MHz / 2100 Mhz (Banda 4 AWS)

Problem could be in your network frequencies. Umi plus e support 800, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz bands. These bands are the most frequent in Europe.

I bought two phones for my kids (one UMI PLUS E and one C note). I leave in Slovenia (Europe).
I have very strong 4G signal, but both phones switch to 2G signal. This happens all the time and the ussage is TERRIBLE.
We have two additional phones in the same place (one I phone and one Microsoft Lumia) and the connection there is always set to LTE.
UMI Please resolve this. It seams this is a common problem of all UMI phones. The same problem is described in the posts of other UMI phones as well.
I do not understand why you set other threads with the same topic to closed if the problem is not resolved. Please follow the link

Hello
I bought two UMI phones for my kids (1x UMI Plus E and 1x Cnote).
The LTE is not working. Both phones always switch to 2G. Both phones are nice solid parts, but are not useful to be used for cellular data transfer in our place.
At the same place we have two additional phones of US producers and both are all the time operating in LTE mode.
It seams this is common problem od UMI phones. Please look the thread http://community.umidigi.com/thread-7277-2-1.html for example.

UMI please resolve the problem since this is really not a phone behaviour to be proud of!
